Configuring SMTP

I have prblm using the SMTP over my Xchange 2003 mailserver,
because sometimes when I use my DNS to route the mail it cannot send to some destination,& if I use my provider'smtp instead, it block also some mail.
is it possible to use those two configuration together.

* For your problem, have you a error message ?
* And your provider required a authentification, no ?
